Who Built Red Fort in Delhi?
The fort was built by the fifth Mughal emperor in 1639 as his capital, which we currently known as Old Delhi, formerly known as Shahjahan Abad, was built. The fort got its name because of its massive red sandstone walls. This fort is built near the old Salimgarh fort built by Islam Shah Suri in 1546 AD. The royal part of this fort consists of a row of pavilions. Which is known as Nahar e Bihisht. The fort complex is the known for Shahjahan and the Mughal architectural style

When and who got the Red Fort built ?
The Red Fort was built in 1639 by the famous Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who built many such historical buildings during his reign. The Red Fort was built as the new foundation of the Mughal Empire after the Mughal capital moved from Agra to Shahjahanabad. This fort was made of red sand. This fort was once known for its grandeur and for its magnificent structure. This fort was made of very precious stones and metals.
How was the red fort built ?
Like Agra, Shah Jahan wanted to build a new grand fort in Delhi on the banks of Yamuna River. Shahjahan chose Makaramat Khan for this work. Garat Khan was sent by Shah Jahan to help Makaramat Khana to build the Red Fort.
